This series of eight, biweekly calls follows the 8-hour Brief CBT for Pain training designed for Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) in the DoD. Each call lasts one hour and includes a didactic topic that focuses on a more specific aspect of pain treatment, as well as ample time for discussion and consultation regarding participants’ patient cases. Active engagement by participants is a must both in terms of bringing cases to discuss as well as offering feedback and suggestions to fellow participants. Program Description: This course is offered in support of continuous process improvement (CPI) training requirements across the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Conducted by Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Master Black Belts and Black Belts, the course will be offered at a minimum of approximately once per month with flexibility in dates to accommodate MTF operational commitments, facility events, and personnel activities, which may impact the number of attendees. The course will be offered primarily in a virtually setting and developed for 6-12 participants.

Program Description: This event started as a Unit Practice Council initiative and was initially conducted as an annual conference. The decision to move from a one-day conference to quarterly grand rounds was made to meet the needs of the organization. The planning committee of the grand rounds seek to bring speakers of various expertise to help provide a diverse educational experience. We will have two speakers at this offering. The grand rounds are going to be held both in-person and on a virtual platform.

Program Description: This course is designed for health care providers involved in the care of service members or veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or acute stress disorder (ASD) and draws from evidence-based information and guidance contained within the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of PTSD and ASD and related conditions. The major components of the guideline are outlined and key considerations and recommended steps for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of PTSD and ASD are discussed.
