Program Description:  The art of making an accurate diagnosis is important for both the patient and the practitioner. A differential diagnosis is important because it directs the behavioral health provider to rule out conditions that have similar symptomatology and ultimately lead them to find the cause of the symptoms and thereby make an accurate diagnosis. In other words, the provider complies a list of possible explanations for symptoms and then eliminates them individually.
