FY25 Joint Advanced Dietetics Symposium (JANDS)
JANDS is a 13-week, asynchronous course hosted on the Army MEDCoE Blackboard platform that provides training on current and emerging concepts across military nutrition. Each module is a standalone module, typically worth 2 hours of continuing professional education from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Major topics include: Army dietitian individual critical tasks, clinical business operations, leadership skills and techniques, procurement and contracting, nutrition education skills development, nutrition in the deployed environment, large-scale combat operations/multi-domain operations, and military food environment, health and fitness updates, food security, eating disorders, obesity medications, and pediatric nutrition. The curriculum includes DoD, Military Health System, and Army Medical Command program initiatives.
JANDS enhances the overall readiness of military dietitians and their enlisted counterparts for worldwide military operations. This course prepares military the military nutrition professional to support service members in garrison an deployed environments. Each module is led by guest instructors who are subject matter experts in their respective fields.
Beginning in April 2025, 1-5 sessions will be released on Blackboard at a time through early July 2025. The material will remain available on Blackboard until the end of September 2025.
Target Audience
Designed for DoD-affiliated dietitians (military, civilian, and contractors) and their extenders, this activity provides continuing education for registered dietitians and dietetic technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other professions.
Requirements: CE/CME certificates are awarded to participants who fully complete the activity, successfully submit the evaluation survey, and pass the posttest. The deadline to claim credit is Sep 30, 2025.
