Program DescriptionStudents who enroll in the Deployed Patient Safety Trainings are DoD Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve medical professionals from all Services who are required to complete training as a Patient Safety Manager or Leader/Champion before deployments. Additionally, Unit Officers in Charge (OICs) are trained as the appointed Patient Safety Professional. Classes provide “Just-in-Time” trainings 6 months before deployments, however, many do not seek a class until 1 month (short-notice). Without this class, leaders will not be optimally trained to perform duties.
