Pain and Trauma: A Foray into Military Nursing Research

Program Description

This presentation illustrates how one military nurse became part of building the evidence to support the unique needs of military trauma nurses: the challenges of pain assessment and management on the battlefield; en route care; and determining how to ensure military caregivers have the education and training needed to be most effective. Captain Virginia Blackman provides a one hour case study of how clinical questions and uniquely military experiences set the framework for a research career.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, dentists, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
