Nurses' Week Initiative: "Year of the Nurse: Integration for Excellence"

Program Description

The Nurses' Week Initiative aims to increase the body of knowledge across nursing by offering opportunities to give back to nurses and provide continued education across the enterprise. Providing this educational forum highlights the great work nurses across the Military Health System are doing to improve clinical readiness, integration of teams, safety, and quality care.

New classes will be added from 6 May - 12 May. All courses will remain open until 12 November 2020.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Physician Assistants, Optometrists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Healthcare Executives, and other health care professionals who support/care for U.S. active-duty service members, reservists, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, National Guardsmen, military veterans and their families.

Learning Objectives

The topics covered offer continuing education (CE)/continuing medical education (CME) accredited content to nurses and other health care providers and support the full range of military operations in order to sustain the health of all those entrusted to DHA’s medical care. The event will:

  1. Offer CE/CME credit that can be accessed enterprise wide as a home study activity from 6 May to 12 November 2020.
  2. Celebrate work and research completed by tri-service nurses for nurses’ week.
  3. Recruit future DHA enterprise staff into MTF settings by offering personal growth and development opportunities.
