MAY 2022 Nurses’ Week: Training Today’s Nurses; Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders

Program Description

National Nurses Week (NNW) (May 6-12) has been a recognized event since 1954, typically coinciding with Florence Nightingale’s birthday (May 12, 1820). During Nurses Week, the Military Health System tells our story through the lens of our Joint Nursing Team, made up of Active Duty, Guard, Reserve, civilian, and contractor nurses. The MHS provides quality care for patients while staying ready to deliver deployed medical care anywhere in the world when called on. NNW is an opportunity to demonstrate how nursing is at the core of an integrated team that accomplishes the MHS medical readiness mission.

The theme for Nurses Week 2022 – United in Service, Rooted in Strength – recognizes the impact of military nursing and reinforces the unified health care team’s role in support of Department priorities to protect our service members, their families, and our workforce; maintain military readiness to defend the nation and its interests; and continue to support the national COVID-19 response.

Note: Only sessions 2 and 3 will award APA credits.
