May 2022 Nurses’ Week D3: Cross-Sectional Analysis of Health Behavior Tracking Among Active-Duty Air Force Personnel

Program Description

Personal health tracking can provide advance awareness of potential health problems. However, we do not currently know the prevalence and preferences of health tracker device use in the Active-duty Air Force population. This prospective cross-sectional survey assessed self-reported fitness activity, perceived physical and mental health, health literacy, and health behavior tracking practices of active-duty Air Force service members assigned to the Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, (N = 9,984).

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistance, social workers, psychologists, and certified counselors. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

  1. Summarize factors associated with health tracking behaviors.
  2. Describe the characteristics of Air Forces personnel that use a tracking device.
  3. Compare the similarities and differences of Air Forces personnel that use a tracking device and those that do not use a tracking device.
