Program Description

The COVID-19 Palliative Care Toolkit presentation underscores the importance of palliative care for hospitalized patients during the pandemic. We describe the evidence-base and biobehavioral-framework for the COVID-19 palliative care toolkit and highlight the toolkit content that can be rapidly utilized and implemented with frontline workers in an inpatient setting lacking established palliative care specialists, teams, or departments.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the needs of Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Social Workers, Certified Counselors, Healthcare Executives, and other health care professionals. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define the need for and importance of basic palliative care for hospitalized inpatients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. List three central themes derived from the COVID-19 palliative care scientific literature synthesis.
  3. Summarize the purpose for development and implementation of a COVID-19 palliative care toolkit.
