Andrea Austin, MD, FACEP, CHSE

Dr. Austin is an internationally recognized emergency medicine physician and educator. She is the Inaugural Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, a Vituity site and a Florida State University College of Medicine-sponsored program. She is a Navy veteran and former lieutenant commander. Her career includes a deployment to Iraq and serving at the forefront of emergency medicine at the Navy Trauma Training Center (NTTC) at LA General. She is the chair of the American Association of Women Emergency Physicians. She hosts the podcast Heartline: Changemaking in Healthcare, which features the inspirational stories of healthcare changemakers. Her book Revitalized: A Guidebook to Following Your Healing Heartline transcends her personal burnout narrative, offering tangible insights on thriving in a challenging healthcare system.
