DHA Clinical Pharmacy Course
Program Description:
This is an on-demand offering for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Clinical Pharmacy Course (CPC) is a designed lecture series that covers current clinical practice guidelines, fundamentals of clinical pharmacology, and best practices within the DHA clinical pharmacy setting. The primary objective of the CPC is to establish a uniform method for overseeing Clinical Pharmacy Practice within the DHA, in which Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners and Clinical Pharmacy Technicians collaborate in screening, examining, and treating patients. The CPC instructors possess comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in clinical pharmacy within the DHA. The CPC emphasizes the Pharmacist-Patient relationship in the Medical Home, Transitions of Care, Pain Management, Deployment Medicine, and other specialty areas. The key characteristics and mindset of each topic are summarized to provide context for the current state and to demonstrate how the field has evolved innovatively.
This event is for DHA clinical pharmacy staff to gain insight into appointment coding, productivity, schedule management, MHS GENESIS pharmacy notes, interventions, IT clinical systems, medical readiness, clinical reports, conversions to formulary medication, and opioid reduction strategies. This course provides strategies for personalized patient care to optimize health outcomes, promote wellness, and prevent diseases. The CPC embraces the pharmaceutical care philosophy to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care.
