Alexandra Vance, Doctor of Pharmacy, Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist
Alexandra C. Vance, Pharm.D., BCPS earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2001. She completed an Ambulatory Care residency with the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2002. She has been a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist since 2007.
She is currently the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at the United States Naval Hospital Jacksonville (NHJAX), a position she has held since 2004. Prior to joining NHJAX, she was an inpatient Clinical Pharmacist at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial in 2003. Her professional practice experiences and interests include comprehensive medication management of chronic and acute health conditions such as diabetes, anticoagulation, dyslipidemia, and infectious diseases. She has a certification in pharmacogenomics from the University of Florida and implemented a pharmacogenomics service for active-duty service members on behavioral health medications. She is the Co-Chair of NHJAX’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. She serves as the coordinator and facilitator for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. She is the DHA MTF Pharmacy Advisory Board Clinical Pharmacy Special Interest Group (SIG) Co-Chair.
She was recognized as the Navy’s Civilian Pharmacist of the Year in 2013, 2016, and 2020 and was selected as NHJAX’s Senior Civilian of the Year in 2020. In 2018, the NHJAX Medical staff recognized her outstanding support with the Circle of Excellence Award. She received the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Medal in 2017. She is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacists.
She enjoys reading non-fiction books and vacationing in the mountains with her husband and two sons.
