Program Description: Expeditionary dentistry poses unique challenges, including working in remote environments, limited support, and the need for creative thinking. The U.S. military is well prepared to forward deploy dental personnel to meet the needs of operations, however each service has unique capabilities and challenges that should be shared across the services. Its purpose is to provide foundational training in behavioral threat assessment, recognized by the APA in 2013 as the gold standard of assessing threat cases. This training will bridge the gap between threatening individuals and what mental health providers can do to mitigate varying levels of threat concerns.
