Program Description: The Lifestyle & Performance Medicine Lecture Series is intended for all health care professionals and health care leaders to learn more about the approach to patient care known as Lifestyle Medicine. The third lecture in the series is titled "Motivational Interviewing: Catalyst for Change in Lifestyle.” This training will outline resources and various models for integrating, diagnosing, and coding lifestyle & performance medicine in primary and specialty care.

Program DescriptionTraumatic Brain Injury (TBI) can cause disturbances of chemical and electrical function within the brain which affects the neurotransmitters that govern the sleep-wake cycle (circadian rhythm). Consequentially, the ability of the service member to function in the workplace is affected, along with the service member’s social, emotional, and overall physical functioning.

Program Description: Traumatic brain injury can cause a variety of physical, psychological, and cognitive symptoms. Of reported post-concussive symptoms, headache is the most common and persistent. This activity, hosted by the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence, will improve knowledge and awareness of post traumatic headaches, recommended treatment strategies, and available resources.

Program Description: This enduring material is designed to bring multiple disciplines together to learn and create complementary patient centered care that improves the overall health of our patient population. The course examines the connection of plant-based nutrition with a variety of health conditions. Several studies supporting the positive impact of plant-based nutrition on cancer (CA), diabetes mellitus (DM), cardiovascular disease (CVD), and weight management outcomes were presented.
