$0.00 This is a homestudy (enduring) event meant to increase provider awareness of the risk factors and effective counseling for Individuals with Sickle Cell Trait (SCT). Recent deaths have highlighted how SCT is a risk factor for exertional injury during the Air Force (AF) fitness test. Across all services there is an upward trend in heat illness and rhabdomyolysis over the past five years. Due to these occurrences recent policy changes have been made to include two compulsory counseling sessions with providers to address factors such as family planning and screenings.

04/15/2020 $0.00 Presenters will discuss the etiology, prevalence rate, and symptoms of ADHD as well as non-ADHD factors that can give the appearance of this neurodevelopmental disorder. Presenters will also discuss current DoD policies and contraindications for such a diagnosis while serving in the military as well as current recommendations regarding neuropsychological testing of ADHD. Furthermore, presenters will teach participants how to rapidly assess and treat attention-related problems in addition to appropriate documentation within a primary care setting.
