RHCE 2019 Fall Medical Surgical Conference: Nursing: Day 1
Target Audience
This CE activity is provided by the DHA J-7 Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO). This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, social workers, kinesiotherapists, counselors, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
1. Define “Just Culture.”
2. Identify a Model that incorporates a “Just Culture.”
3. Articulate the definition of evidence-based practice (EBP), and how it is differs from quality/performance improvement initiatives.
4. Name 2 common barriers to EBP and 2 common supporters of EBP within an organization.
5. Outline current wound bed preparation models, wound healing, and practice principles.
6. Select appropriate wound care dressings to be applied based on the category of wound.
7. Practice wound assessment, wound measurement, and wound documentation using SIM mannequins.
8. Review a variety of primary and secondary dressings and review correct product selection based on wound assessment and principles of healing.
9. Describe how technology may improve safety.
10. Identify healthcare roles that benefit from informatics.
