Target Audience

  • Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Social Workers, Certified Counselors
  • All other health care professionals completing this CE/CME activity will be issued a Certificate of Attendance indicating participation and the number of hours of CE/CME credits, which may be used for submission to licensing boards for satisfaction of CE/CME credits.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss Landstuhl Regional Medical Center’s (LMRC) role in the chain of medical evacuation.
  2. Review how LRMC’s capabilities align with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Level II Trauma status.
  3. Explain how the Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) is used in U.S military medical treatment facilities.
  4. Evaluate staff availability as documented in the Defense Medical Human Resource System internet (DHRMSi).
  5. Explain why virtual health (VH) is used in Europe.
  6. Discuss the spectrum of VH.
  7. Identify at least three common impairments of swallow function following in/extubation.
  8. Discuss the impact of COVID-19 pathophysiology on dysphagia in ICU patients following prolonged mechanical ventilation.
  9. Explore the pathophysiology and epidemiology of Osteoradionecrosis (ORN).
  10. Discuss the classification systems of ORN.
  11. Differentiate between services offered by Army Hearing Program versus Audiology Clinic.
  12. Discuss primary care management (PCM) evaluation and treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) in primary and emergency care settings.
  13. Identify the diversity of communication and why it is important.
  14. Discuss cross generational communication characteristics and potential impact.
