Project CARE/FAAST Summit: "Cutting Edge Treatments" Day 02

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and social workers. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Summarize problems of current artificial limbs. 
  2. Describe wound challenges of traditional prosthetics. 
  3. Compare state-of-the art methods used in osseointegration amputation therapy. 
  4. Explain the complex factors involving limb salvaging and amputation. 
  5. Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of limb salvage scoring systems. 
  6. Justify how the combat injured extremity is different from civilian injuries and how those differences impact the decision for limb salvage versus amputation. 
  7. Support goals in designing prosthetics using neural interfacing technology.
