Nurse Case Manager Workshop Day 2

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses and case managers who support/care for U.S. active-duty service members, reservists, National Guardsmen, military veterans and their families.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the referral process for TRICARE Prime Remote (TPR) beneficiaries Outside the Contiguous United States (OCONUS).
  2. Describe the Supplemental Health Care Program (SHCP) waiver process.
  3. Outline the CONUS care justification process.
  4. Analyze the Inpatient Medical Management (IMM) program.
  5. Summarize the current TRICARE policy updates.
  6. Discuss overview of Remote Nurse Case Management Services.
  7. Explain the travel process and requirements.
  8. Summarize Remote Care Coordination. 
  9. Compare the three levels of the Stepped Care Model for Pain.
  10. Differentiate case management involvement at each level of the model.
  11. Evaluate options for non-pharmacological pain treatment.
  12. Comprehend the background of the A3 Tool.
  13. Explain the steps in the 8-Step Practical Problem Solving as a method for solving problems and A3 as a tool for documenting the journey.
  14. Generate an A3 through a simulation.
