CAOHC Course Director Certification Workshop

Program Description

CAOHC approved Military Representatives will provide an 8hr workshop for hearing conservation professionals seeking certification or re-certification as Course Directors. The Workshop will take place virtually through MS Teams on 9 March 2023 from 0800 - 1700 EST. CD certification is required to train and certify hearing technicians conducting surveillance audiometry across the Department of Defense as part of the Service Hearing Conservation Program.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for: physicians and nurses. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Plan and conduct an Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC) course that complies with Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC's) policies and procedures.
  2. Apply effective learning principles to teach adult students.
  3. Evaluate the skill level of OHCs during the practicum.
  4. Adjust curricula and training methodologies based on outcome measures.

    DHA, J-7, CEPO is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing education. ACCME Non-Physician CME Credit providers will be provided a certificate of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. ACCME Non-Physician CME Credit providers may receive a maximum of 6.50 hours for completing this Course activity.
