Learning Objectives
- Use Pain Neuroscience Education as a tool to address treatable biological, psychological, and sociological factors at the provider-patient level as appropriate.
- Identify the different stages of change in order to prescribe the appropriate treatment for each stage.
- Recognize how context and environmental factors may contribute to pain related suffering and disability.
- Explain the concept: Movement is Medicine, which is an essential component of comprehensive chronic pain management.
- Explain the VA/DoD CPG and evidence for opioids and benzodiazepines in CNCP management.
- Practice use of Informed Consent and the Sole Prescriber Agreement Policy.
- Summarize comprehensive non-opioid Pharmacological options to augment self- management.
- Identifying addiction resources in CSMSM.
- Apply patient-centered language to help convey and negotiate biomedical closure.
