Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, optometrists, athletic trainers, registered dieticians, dietetic technicians, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify two key factors that determine burn wound development & it’s severity.
  2. Describe the GOLD STANDARD to Burn Care.
  3. Explain how the HyperMetabolic State is a problem for the Burn Patient.
  4. Identify what is the worst type of burn injury, and why.
  5. Describe the difference between temporary and permanent wound dressing.
