Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, optometrists, psychologists and social workers. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Summarize the need for both microbiology laboratory field detachment sections as well as nearby Role IV laboratories.
  2. Identify potential symptoms of Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and HIV.
  3. Provide patient education and statistics on asymptomatic sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and the need for routine screening in areas of high prevalence.
