Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Review the purchased care referral process and develop an understanding of how to navigate it efficiently.
- Familiarize the audience with the basic, evidence based, evaluation and workup of syncope in otherwise healthy individuals.
- Summarize the American College of Radiology (ACR) healthcare system goals in medical imaging.
- Navigate the ACR Appropriateness Criteria website to utilize clinical decision support tools and resources.
- State the difference between seizure and syncope.
- Recognize the red flags resulting in further consultation for care in mTBI patients.
- Differentiate and diagnose the spectrum of alcohol (EtOH) withdrawal syndrome.
- Disposition and manage the symptoms of EtOH withdrawal in a patient-centered manner.
- Recall the overall epidemiology of HIV in the U.S. and globally.
- Understand HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
- Discuss the research behind subcutaneous insulin protocols.
- Implement subcutaneous insulin protocols at your respective institutions.
- Define TBI, mild, moderate, severe.
- Compare recommendations for close monitoring, colposcopy, or treatment.
- Differentiate between close interval follow up recommendations versus referral for further evaluation by the gynecology clinic.
- Identify physical and mental capabilities required for military service.
- Discuss key evidence based critical care management techniques required after damage control surgery to optimize patient outcomes and survivability
- Examine the concept of damage control surgery and its uses.
