Maj Theodore T. Urbano is the Chief, Policy and Programming Branch, DHA J-7, Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ), Falls Church, Virginia. He assists the Military Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Operations Division in aligning education and training activities for over 600 MTFs into the DHA as outlined in the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act.
Maj Urbano is tripled certified as an adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist, certified medical-surgical registered nurse, and chronic care professional health coach. He has deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, where he was the Officer in Charge (OIC) for the largest Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility in US Central Command. Prior to his current position, he was the Air Force’s first fellow at the DHA, supporting the directorate in the development and sustainment of Department of Defense medical training initiatives and academic policy.
