Maj Theodore T. Urbano is the Special Missions Auxiliary Clinic Flight Commander, 316th Medical Group, 316th Wing, the Pentagon, Washington, the District of Washington. In this role, he leads 20 multidisciplinary staff in delivering comprehensive flight medicine services to 2.7K aviators and senior Defense Department officials to include the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Service Secretaries, and Service Chiefs.
Maj Urbano is quintuple certified as an adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist, holistic nurse, health and wellness nurse coach, certified medical-surgical registered nurse, and lifestyle medicine professional. He has deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, where he was the Officer in Charge (OIC) for the largest Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility in US Central Command. Prior to his current position, he serves as Chief, Policy and Programming Branch, DHA J-7, Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ), Falls Church, Virginia. He propelled the Military Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Operations Division in aligning education and training activities for over 600 MTFs into the DHA as outlined in the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act and supporting the directorate in the development and sustainment of Department of Defense medical training initiatives and academic policy.
