Raimund Royer, K.M.D., Ph.D.

Born in 1964, I become interested in East-Asian Medicine early in my youth and decided to study Korean Medicine in Korea. After going through a 2-year language program (for Korean language and Chinese character) I studied at Daeguhanydae University, graduated in 1999, and passed the national license exam becoming the first “Westerner” to be able to practice Korean Medicine in Korea. After my internship, I specialized in acupuncture and herbal medicine. My Ph.D. thesis was about the “Anti-inflammatory Effect of Sophorae Radix Extract”.
In 2006 I joint the Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine and established its International clinic. Our focus lays on treating international patients from all over the world mostly with musculoskeletal conditions such as spinal disc herniation or degenerative joint conditions. Additionally, we promote our often unique treatment techniques through international conferences and lectures.
In the last 15 years, I wrote numerous articles and columns and held lectures in many parts of the world about Korean Medicine and its benefits.
