Gina Wright, L.C.S.W.
MAJ Gina M. Wright is a native of Lowell, Indiana. MAJ Wright received her BA in Social Work from Olivet Nazarene University in 1998. In 2003, she achieved her Master’s degree in Social Work from Indiana University followed by her licensure in Clinical Social Work. She commissioned into the United States Army in March of 2008.
MAJ Wright the served as a BHO in the 82nd ABN DIV twice in support of the Global Reaction Force (GRF) mission: 3BCT from June 2011-July 2013 and 1BCT September 2018- July 2020. While in 1BCT she was part of the GRF and deployed to Kuwait from January- May 2020. MAJ Wright was selected to be the first Social Work officer organic to a Special Forces Organization; she proudly served in 3D SFG(A), USASOC from July 2013-2016. Proceeding this assignment, she was in a Special Missions Unit, serving as the liaison for joint service military members and families who needed behavioral health, TBI, and other supportive services for two years.
MAJ Wright commanded the 528th MED DET (COSC) from July 2020 –July 2023. During her command, she lead the training for the detachment in preparation for DCRF assumption, and while on DCRF, deployed 7 small COSC teams to separate geographical locations ISO Operation Allies Welcome (OAW). She also established a 3-day Comprehensive Wellness Program called FORTITUDE on Fort Liberty to improve Soldier wellness and promote resilience, which continues monthly to this day.
Since August 2022 MAJ Wright has been the Chief of Behavioral Health for Winn ACH and serves as the Installation Director of Psychological Health for Fort Stewart and Hunter AAF.
