Womack Pharmacy: PTSD Management Update: Evidence-Based Pharmacotherapy

This activity is a part of the Womack Army Medical Center Pharmacy Monthly Training Series. This iteration will highlight evidence based pharmacotherapy in the management of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the diagnostic criteria, epidemiology, and risk factors for PTSD.
  2. Recommend evidence-based pharmacotherapy treatments.
  3. Design a symptom-targeted pharmacotherapy with prazosin.
  4. Implement a medication safety and monitoring strategy across therapies.
  5. Discuss emerging therapies for PTSD Management.
