Womack Pharm: Recommendations for the Management of Prediabetes

Program Description

This activity is a part of the Womack Army Medical Center Pharmacy Monthly Training Series. This iteration discusses recommendations for the management of prediabetes.

Target Audience

This CE/CME activity is accredited by the DHA, J-7, Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO). This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1.  Summarize guidelines for prediabetes management.
  2.  Compare the US National Diabetes Prevention Program to guideline recommendations.
  3.  Identify appropriate patients for treatment with metformin.
  4.  Evaluate the use of antidiabetic medications based on recent literature.
  5.  Develop a plan for the management of prediabetes.
