Program Description

This activity is a part of the Womack Army Medical Center Pharmacy Monthly Trainings. This iteration will review medical modifications after bariatric surgery

Target Audience

This CE/CME activity is accredited by the DHA, J-7, Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO). This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technician.  A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify expected pharmacokinetic changes after bariatric surgery.
  2. Evaluate effectiveness of medication regimens after bariatric surgery.
  3. Analyze the effects and/or need for dose adjustments after bariatric surgery.
  4. Discuss opioid use and potential addiction transfer in post-bariatric patients.
