VCE: Vocational Rehabilitation - Exploring Opportunities for Job Seekers with Disabilities

Program Description: 

This presentation is for professionals that interact with visually disabled active duty service members and Veterans. It will discuss vocational rehabilitation with the objective to gain knowledge related to Vocational Rehabilitation (VR).​ Attendees will learn about the unique VR services and programs available to dependents (spouse and children) within state and federal VR programs and acquire information on referring dependents to VR services. This information is necessary to improve quality of life by improving access to services. The presentation will be live online, to providers who are invited by the Vision Center of Excellence.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, optometrists, and social workers. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

  2. Describe the unique VR services and programs available to dependents (spouse and children) within state VR programs.
  3. Explain the process for referring dependents to VR services.
