Program Description

This is the monthly Vision Center of Excellence Ocular Trauma and Vision Readiness Video TeleConference (VCE OTVR VTC). This conference discusses ocular trauma cases and vision readiness topics from around the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

In order to claim Maintenance of Certification Credit (MOC) your profile must include the name of your Board and your unique Board ID number.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, and optometrists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain what the VCE is and identify its stakeholders.
  2. Define what a VCE Vision Care Service Coordinator (VCSC) is and who they can help.
  3. Identify the different outreach facilities and organizations that the VCSC interacts with to support the Active duty Service member or Veteran.
  4. Discuss the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Blind Rehabilitation Service (BRS).
  5. List devices that the VA BRS can provide to visually impaired Veterans.
  6. State the contact information for the VCSCs.
  7. Review VCSC Case Presentation.
