USP 797: Principles of Movement of Materials and Personnel within the Compounding Area

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define the design requirements to maintain air quality.
  2. Explain the specifics for a Primary Engineering Control (PEC) location and buffer equipment.
  3. Compare the items that are allowed and not allowed in a buffer or Segregated Compounding Area (SCA).
  4. Describe the steps for placing items into a PEC.
  5. Summarize the concepts for moving finished Compounded Sterile Products (CSPs).
