Updates on Dental Restorative Materials

Program Description

This in person live event is a didactic course designed to provide the dental officer with an update on direct and indirect restorative materials to include Amalgam, Enamel and Dentin Adhesives, Polymerization and Light Curing, Composite Resins, Ion-Releasing Materials, Ceramics and Resin Cements.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Comprehend the new legislative instruction on use and safety of amalgam.
  2. Recognize the classification of the bonding agents and their evidence-based selection for use.
  3. Identify the types of light curing units and their indications and contraindications.
  4. Differentiate the various types of composite resin materials to include bulk-fill, flowable, and single-shade.
  5. Discuss the spectrum of direct restorative materials from composite to glass ionomer.
  6. Describe the spectrum of all-ceramic materials and their clinical indications and contraindications.
  7. Illustrate the spectrum of cements, with an emphasis on resin cements and their clinical indications
