TSOTSL: Anterior Segment Eye Trauma Management Lab
Program Description:
This session of the Tri-Service Ocular Trauma and Surgery Lab will address anatomy of the anterior segment of the eye, and signs and symptoms of injuries and orbital compartment syndrome.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for optometrists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Understand and identify the anatomy of the anterior segment of the eye, which comprises the structures from the cornea to the lens
- Recognize signs and symptoms of anterior segment eye injuries, orbital compartment syndrome, such as pain, redness, tearing, blurred vision, and sensitivity to light
- Demonstrate proper examination techniques for assessing and treating anterior segment injuries, including slit-lamp examination, removal of cornea foreign bodies, Seidel testing, applying glue to close wounds and more
