TBICoE: Assessment and Management of Headache Following Concussion/mTBI: Guidance for the Primary Care Manager
Traumatic brain injury can cause a variety of physical, psychological, and cognitive symptoms. Of reported post-concussive symptoms, headache is the most common and persistent. This activity, hosted by the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence, will improve knowledge and awareness of post traumatic headaches, recommended treatment strategies, and available resources.

Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, physician assistants/associates, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and athletic trainers. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Describe post-traumatic headache (PTH).
- Differentiate common PTH subtypes.
- Identify evaluation and management strategies to treat PTH.
- Summarize methods to prevent and manage medication overuse headache (MOH).
