S.T.A.B.L.E. Program Series-Instructor Program
Program Description:
The 2-day S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor Course will provide a comprehensive overview of The S.T.A.B.L.E Program Learner / Provider course materials and will prepare expert neonatal nurses, physicians and respiratory therapists for the Lead or Support Instructor role.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses and physician assistants, A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Interpret the S.T.A.B.L.E.® program to provide new perinatal caregivers with a precise, directive tool to assist them in organizing and teaching the myriad details and interventions necessary to provide care to a sick and/or premature infant.
- Apply their knowledge to teach students how to use the S.T.A.B.L.E. ® pneumonic to organize the care given to infants in need of post resuscitation and transport care.
- Demonstrate competence in teaching hypoglycemia and temperature by analyzing aerobic, anaerobic metabolism and identifying neonates at risk for hypoglycemia and hypothermia.
- Differentiate different airway management and air way complications by applying the S.T.A.B.L.E. ® pneumonic to instruct students.
- Support practitioners by using S.T.A.B.L.E. ® to guide the education and practice of preventing and managing shock and infection in premature and sick neonates.
- Devise a plan to educate new learners on culturally appropriate support and improve patient outcomes.
