Program Description

The Regional Health Command Europe (RHCE) Fall 2020 Medical Surgical Conference provides an educational forum which highlights and fosters innovative medical breakthroughs/best practices, provider updates on the latest evidence-based medicine, and exposes active duty staff to Individual Critical Task List (ICTL) training in a formal educational environment. As new and improved methods of practice, evidence and care are discovered, this conference allows our healthcare workers to have better opportunities to share and advance their practice and improve patient care. Embracing innovation allows our military providers to stay mission ready and benefits all patients in the European theatre.

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Kinesiotherapists, Healthcare Executives and Certified Counselors.

All other health care professionals completing this CE/CME activity will be issued a Certificate of Attendance indicating participation and the number of hours of CE/CME credit. This may be used for submission to licensing boards for satisfaction of CE/CME requirements. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the six rights of medication administration.
  2. Recognize the most common causes for medication errors.
  3. Explain various reasons why youth are at risk for overuse injuries
  4. Describe the biomechanical differences of youth that need to be considered for all evaluation and for treatment planning.
  5. Identify anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system and impact of mTBI.
  6. Explain differential diagnosis of the “dizzy” service member.
  7. Describe the elements of a vestibular physical therapy assessment and treatment interventions using case studies.
  8. Explain useful clinical applications of Ultrasound.
  9. Define virtual health (VH) and the VH mission within DHA as well as RHC-E.
  10. Recognize potential for practical use of VH systems in their own clinical practice.
