Program Description

The Regional Health Command Europe (RHCE) Fall 2020 Medical Surgical Conference provides an educational forum which highlights and fosters innovative medical breakthroughs/best practices, provider updates on the latest evidence-based medicine, and exposes active duty staff to Individual Critical Task List (ICTL) training in a formal educational environment. As new and improved methods of practice, evidence and care are discovered, this conference allows our healthcare workers to have better opportunities to share and advance their practice and improve patient care. Embracing innovation allows our military providers to stay mission ready and benefits all patients in the European theatre.

Target Audience

Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Social Workers, Case Managers, Healthcare Executives and Certified Counselors.

All other health care professionals completing this CE/CME activity will be issued a Certificate of Attendance indicating participation and the number of hours of CE/CME credit. This may be used for submission to licensing boards for satisfaction of CE/CME requirements. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the difference between traditional problem-solving methods versus A3 thinking.
  2. Discuss what you are expected to do as a first responder and review step by step how to respond to a sexual assault as a health care provider.
  3. Identify the roll of SAMFE and the process of exam and how we follow-up care.
  4. Summarize medical device integration.
  5. Discuss principles used in simulation based education (SBE).
  6. Describe how recognition of cognitive frames is utilized in debriefing.
  7. Verbalize understanding of what an ASIST trained provider is, and the goals of ASIST training.
  8. Identify at least four risk factors and warning signs for suicide.
  9. Summarize how LRMC supported the Joint Warfighter during the pandemic.
  10. Summarize the current evaluation process for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
