Target Audience
- Physicians, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Social Workers, Certified Counselors
- All other health care professionals completing this CE/CME activity will be issued a Certificate of Attendance indicating participation and the number of hours of CE/CME credits, which may be used for submission to licensing boards for satisfaction of CE/CME credits.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the Annual Action Plan (AAP) Guidelines on Attention/Deficit - Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
- Discuss common medications used to treat ADHD as well as their potential side effects.
- Discuss the prevalence, core symptoms, red flags and co-occurring conditions with and of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
- Describe the use of appropriate screening tools for ASD.
- Identify findings associated with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in children and adults.
- Recognize ways that interdisciplinary care optimizes management of OSA and other sleep related breathing disorders.
- Describe at least three connections between nasal breathing and overall health.
- Execute a basic screen to identify oral versus nasal breathing patterns.
- Recognize contraindications of contraception.
- Discuss other benefits of contraception.
- Explain the role the Guinea Pig Club had on improving the outcome of burn patients during World War II.
- Summarize the roles innovation and collaboration can have in overcoming challenging circumstances.
- State the process to activate the SAMFE Mobile Team (SMT).
- Demonstrate how to provide trauma-informed (TI), patient-centered care (PC) for the sexual assault patient.
