Program Description

The majority of registered dietitians at Brooke Army Medical Center do not have previous or current experience working with patients with disordered eating/eating disorders. This live lecture will serve as a guide and resource for all of the Brooke Army Medical Center registered dietitian/nutritionist staff to provide appropriate and up to date medical nutrition therapy for patients with eating disorders.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for registered dieticians and dietetic technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe similarities and differences in common eating disorders (EDs).
  2. Explain the foundations of ED treatment and levels of care.
  3. Differentiate what is and what isn’t the Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) role in ED treatment.
  4. Explore the Nutrition Care Process, including assessment and intervention for EDs.
  5. Speak confidently with patients with EDs.
