Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician associates/physician assistants across the MHS. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Compare the differences between the Circulation, Airway, Breathing (CAB) and the Airway, Breathing, Circulation (ABC) approach, and when to use them.
  2. Differentiate between isolated injury patterns and their respective treatments, and multiple system trauma and their respective treatments.
  3. Summarize the positive effects of why prioritization of circulation over airway results in a better patient outcome when exsanguinating hemorrhage is present.
