Primary Care Pain Care Champion Training: Stepped Care Model Implementation Overview - Webinar 1

Program Description

The Stepped Care Model (SCM) for pain supports evidence-based, comprehensive management of acute and chronic pain for all enrolled patients. This workshop aims to train primary care pain champions to implement the SCM for pain in their patient-centered medical homes (PCMH).

Target Audience

This continuing education (CE) activity is provided by the DHA J-7 Continuing Education Program Office (CEPO). This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, kinesiotherapists, and healthcare executives.  A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees. 

Learning Objectives

  1. Be familiar with the roles and responsibilities of the primary care pain champion.
  2. Be able to identify key roles and training necessary for the Stepped Care Model (SCM) for pain implementation.
  3. Have a basic understanding of the use of job aids and tools used in the SCM for pain implementation.
  4. Understand additional tasks required prior to attending the Primary Care Pain Champion full-day training.
