Orthopedic Physician Assistant Introductory Course-Landstuhl Regional Medical Center- April 2025
Program Description:
The course is designed to provide a beyond entry level introduction to orthopedic medicine, covering 4 of the 65D Individual Critical Task Lists which includes treating traumatic pelvic injuries, extremity fractures, crush injuries, and traumatic wounds.
Target Audience
This activity provides continuing education for physician associates/physician assistants. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss Physician Assistant skillset beyond general practice in orthopedic medicine regarding the evaluation and treatment of emergency, acute, and chronic orthopedic conditions.
- Analyze core content of pathology related to orthopedic medicine to include evaluation and management of the orthopedic trauma patient.
- Outline components of musculoskeletal exams, fracture and dislocation reduction techniques, casting and splinting management, x-ray and advanced imaging evaluation, joint aspiration, and injection with and without image guidance used commonly within orthopedic medicine.
