Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Compare US Navy and U.S. Marine Corps’ (USMC) two (2) Chains of Command: Operational and Administrative.
  2. Summarize the roles of a Combatant Command and a Component Command.
  3. Explain how and why a U.S. Navy ship’s Fleet assignments can change during a deployment.
  4. Evaluate the life cycle of a controlled substance, the policies and procedures around working with controlled substances and the role of the Controlled Substance Inventory Board (CSIB).
  5. Summarize the roles and responsibilities of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and the procurement / distribution process.
  6. Review the different Roles of Care and explain antidotes and supportive treatments for the most common chemical agent exposures.
