The CMO/CNO/CDO training course for network and MTF chief medical officers, chief nursing officers, and chief dental officers consists of plenary and breakout sessions on topics such as clinical quality management, healthcare optimization, and financial operations. The curriculum includes operational tools and learning objectives to advance DHA’s mission.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for physicians, nurses, dentists, and healthcare executives. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Differentiate key responsibilities of the CMO/CNO/CDO at Defense Health Agency Headquarters (DHA HQ), DHNs, and Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
  2. Identify areas for improved communication between CMOs/CNOs/CDOs.
  3. Describe bi-directional communication flow between CMOs/CNOs/CDOs at DHA HQ, DNHs, and MTFs.
  4. Explain the quality care metrics that drive the DHN/MTF practices.
  5. Evaluate healthcare operations metrics driving DHN/MTF business rules.
  6. Comprehend and evaluate financial management of the DHN/MTF.
  7. Summarize the mission, vision, and priorities of the DHA.
  8. Create a high-performance culture and organization.

ACCME Non-Physician CME Credit providers will be provided a certificate of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. ACCME Non-Physician CME Credit providers may receive a maximum of 14.25 hours for completing this Course activity.
  • 14.25 Healthcare Executives (ACHE)
    By attending this program offered by DHA, J-7, CEPO, participants may earn up to 14.25 American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Qualified Education hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation. Participants in this program who wish to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation.
