Program Description

Navy Pharmacy Quarterly Knowledge Shares provide the Navy Pharmacy Community with information and resources on relevant clinical and administrative topics. The February 2021 Navy Pharmacy Quarterly Knowledge Share will provide a baseline introduction into key logistical information relevant to the expeditionary environment for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The three (3) sessions will be conducted virtually, offered across multiple time zones, and will provide opportunities for community Q&A with Navy Pharmacy SMEs.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Outline the roles and responsibilities of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and DLA Troop Support Medical.
  2. Comprehend the structure and function of Authorized Medical Allowance Lists (AMAL) and resources to review and utilize to obtain acceptable alternate National Stock Number (NSN) items.
  3. Summarize existing resources on Prime Vendor Contract requirements and contacts, Reverse Distribution Contracts, and approved Cold Chain packaging protocols.
