Program Description

The Navy Operational Optometry Conference will share operationally relevant clinical pearls and updates specific to providing eye care to Navy service members including topics on dive/undersea, aviation, underway, humanitarian, and community specific trends.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize the visual demands of undersea operational environments.
  2. Know the physical standards required for undersea applicants and designated personnel.
  3. Organize with the undersea medical team.
  4. Discover a rapport with the undersea community.
  5. Outline how optometry is enabling the U.S. Naval Aviation Enterprise.
  6. Analyze human systems engineering and how optometry fits within that domain.
  7. Describe how vision science is critical to warfighter performance.
