Program Description

The Navy Operational Optometry Conference will share operationally relevant clinical pearls and updates specific to providing eye care to Navy service members including topics on dive/undersea, aviation, underway, humanitarian, and community specific trends.

  1. Comprehend the job of an Aerospace Optometrist.
  2. Analyze the job, schedule, and availability of the wing.
  3. Outline how to integrate with the aviation community and fleet.
  4. Prepare for optometric care while underway.
  5. Know readiness requirements for deployment.
  6. Describe underway life.
  7. Examine optometric care challenges and strengths afloat and ashore during multinational humanitarian assistance, disaster relief preparedness, and civic action missions.
  8. List career development trainings and opportunities available while serving on hospital ships.
