Navy Clinical Social Work Symposium: Aeromedical Mental Health

This professional development symposium brings together Navy Clinical Social Workers to enhance clinical knowledge, share best practices, and strengthen collaborative approaches to mental health care within military settings. Participants will engage in interactive presentations and discussions focused on diverse patient populations, therapeutic interventions, and practice challenges. The activity also promotes networking, consultation, and the application of evidence-based practice.

Target Audience

This activity provides continuing education for social workers and psychologists. A certificate of attendance is available for other attendees.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify the military aviation occupational specialties that require additional considerations with regard to mental health.
  2. Discuss permanently disqualifying mental health diagnoses for aircrew.
  3. Outline implications of common mental health diagnoses for aircrew members.
  4. Summarize current barriers to care in the aviation community.
  5. Explore methods to facilitate mental health within the aviation community.
